About the Role
We are hiring Java Developers for a digital project with a leading Singapore public sector agency. You will build and maintain enterprise web applications on a Java EE and React environment, with a strong focus on secure and clean code.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain web applications using Core Java, JSP, Servlets, Java Beans and React.
Build and integrate RESTful web services and APIs.
Develop data access layers using JDBC, JPA and SQL.
Work with EJB and Java Server Faces in an n-tier architecture.
Apply secure coding practices and take part in code reviews.
Troubleshoot, debug and prepare technical documentation.
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience within the past 4 years in Core Java, JSP, Servlets, Java Beans, React/ReactJS, session management, JDBC, JPA, SQL, and RESTful web services and APIs
At least 2 years of experience within the past 3 years coding with HTML5, XHTML, AJAX, JSON, Java Server Faces and EJB (Session, Entity & Message, Service Locator, Business Delegate, DTO, DAO)
Hands-on experience with IDEs (IBM RAD 9.0+ or Eclipse), Spring Boot, Angular, JUnit and Git/Bitbucket is preferred
Knowledge of Portal/Portlet development, n-tier architecture, JEE Security and Transaction, Java Web Security/LDAP, XML, SOAP, JNDI and UML is an advantage
Familiar with secure coding practices, such as preventing XSS, SQL injection and command injection, handling race conditions and managing errors/exceptions properly
Strong problem-solving skills, clean coding habits, and experience with debugging, code reviews and documentation
