Senior Java engineer (10+ yrs) building and deploying backend/data solutions on AWS with Spring Boot, Lambda, ECS, Glue and RDS, streaming data via Kafka/MSK, provisioning with Terraform and managing code in GitLab. Emphasis on data engineering (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers) and anomaly detection on operational/transactional data; onsite in Shoreditch.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Degree or equivalent professional background in Computer Science
- Strong hands-on development experience with Java
- Strong experience developing with Spring Boot
- Practical experience designing and deploying solutions on AWS
- Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, ECS, Glue, RDS and compute services
- Strong understanding of data engineering including progression of data across Bronze, Silver and Gold layers
- Experience with Kafka and/or Amazon MSK (Managed Streaming for Kafka)
- Experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code
- Experience using GitLab for source control
- Understanding of anomaly-detection concepts and their application to operational or transactional data
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
