Summary

Build and maintain Java-based enterprise systems for an investment-banking software product, using Spring, REST/SOAP, JMS, and Sybase.

Overview

Role: Java Developer
Location: Montreal, Canada
Duration: Fulltime
BGV will be done for the selected candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Core Responsibilities
  • Engage with global team with various developers and support personnel
  • Work with QA and Support teams to ensure quality of product

Qualifications

  • Technical
    • Java / JEE expert, possesses experience on unit and regression testing practices
    • Fundamental understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and agile, test-driven development practices
    • Understanding of system design / architecture (especially 3/N-Tier applications)
    • Strong Object Oriented design and Java development experience
    • Strong Knowledge of Service Oriented Architectures(SOAP/WSDL & REST based) services and frameworks like CXF
    • Strong Knowledge of transaction and JMS, ideally with exposure to IBM MQ and Apache Camel
    • Database skills including experience working with procedures, triggers and indexes (Sybase)
    • Hands-on experience with Spring Framework including Transactions, IOC & AOP
    • Experience using containers Tomcat & Apache and micro-services
    • Understanding of the SDLC, development practices and exposure to Perforce/Git
    • Good working knowledge of Unix tools and scripting (Perl, ksh/bash and Autosys)
  • Non-technical
    • Technically experienced, detail-oriented, well-organized
    • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and exhibit a keen interest in business of Investment Banking
    • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
