Location: Katowice - 2 days office / 3 days remote

The opportunity

As a Java Developer, you will contribute to the delivery of modern solutions within insurance platform implementation projects. You will collaborate closely with an agile team to support key technical streams and help deliver high‑quality features across the platform. In this role, you will work with contemporary technology stacks, gain exposure to enterprise‑grade integration patterns, and have the opportunity to expand your skill set into the highly sought‑after EIS ecosystem, with full training provided. This position offers a dynamic environment where you can grow your backend expertise while developing capabilities in a niche and in‑demand area of Insurance Technology.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of Java applications for Insurance projects.
  • Collaborate with team members to support project objectives.
  • Help analyze requirements and contribute to the design process.
  • Participate in coding, testing, debugging, and documenting software applications.
  • Learn from and support senior team members in technical tasks.
  • Java Consulting implementation projects with a focus on developing new solutions and expanding system functionalities within the scope of R&D activities.
  • Cooperating with R&D teams to identify and implement best practices and new Java technologies/solutions that may enhance the efficiency of business processes.
  • Reporting the progress of R&D projects and documenting the results of implementations, as well as post-implementation review.
  • Designing, testing, and implementing new Java solutions/modules – conducting workshops, pilots, proof‑of‑concept initiatives, and deploying new or improved system features.
  • Gain hands‑on exposure to EIS through internal training paths and on‑the‑job learning, progressively contributing to EIS‑related configuration, integration, and extension tasks.
  • Support senior EIS specialists in developing platform integrations and backend logic, enabling transition toward EIS specialization over time.
  • Participate in the cross‑skilling journey toward Guidewire technologies, expanding competencies in insurance domain platforms and enterprise‑grade architecture.

Skills And Attributes For Success

  • Knowledge of Java programming.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work independently.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Science, or other Technical qualification.
  • 3+ years in a corporate IT environment in a similar position.
  • Understanding of Java and related frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Exposure to microservices architecture.
  • Interest in the Insurance or Banking sector.
  • Familiarity with Insurance core platforms is a plus.
  • Relevant coursework or certifications in Java, Spring, SQL, AWS, or Azure.
  • Experience with agile/scrum methodologies is advantageous.
