Java Developer
Summary
Builds and maintains Java-based backend services using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the backend development team to design, write, maintain, and refactor Java code following best practices, project requirements, and coding standards.
- Participate actively in architectural and design discussions, providing well-structured, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions.
- Perform comprehensive unit testing, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure backend services meet functional and performance specifications.
- Work independently in breaking down project requirements into smaller, executable tasks while also providing support and guidance to junior developers when needed.
- Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams—onsite or remote—to resolve technical challenges, review code, and ensure smooth integration of backend components.
- Learn and utilize specialized tools, frameworks, APIs, or internal systems efficiently, applying them to backend development responsibilities on an ongoing basis.
- Prepare and maintain clear technical documentation, including inline code comments, API specifications, and brief technical notes for future reference.
- Stay proactive in improving system performance, identifying knowledge gaps, seeking clarity when needed, and incorporating feedback to enhance code reliability and efficiency.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field is preferred; however, undergraduate applicants with relevant backend Java development experience will also be considered.
- 2–4 years of hands‑on experience in backend development using Java, with a solid understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming and backend design principles.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to design logical and efficient backend solutions.
- Familiarity with backend frameworks such as Spring / Spring Boot, RESTful API development, microservices, and integration patterns.
- Basic understanding of web architecture; exposure to front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React, etc.) is a plus but not required.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) is preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn new tools, frameworks, and technologies as needed for ongoing projects.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non‑technical team members.
- Willing to work onsite in BGC, Taguig City, and render overtime when required.
