Detailed Job Description

As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance enterprise applications that support critical business operations. Working within an Agile development environment, you will collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA engineers, and fellow developers to deliver scalable and secure software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in modern Java technologies, API development, database integration, and microservices architecture. You will have the opportunity to contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and coding to testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization. Candidates with experience in banking and financial services environments will have an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications.
• Build scalable microservices using Spring Boot and modern Java frameworks.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to support internal and external system communication.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions and business requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code following software engineering best practices.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Integrate applications with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning sessions.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in development and production environments.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and software release activities.
• Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Ensure adherence to security, quality, and compliance standards throughout development activities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 8, Java 11, and/or Java 17.
• Proven experience developing applications using Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of Microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases including Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience using Git for version control and collaborative software development.
• Familiarity with Maven and/or Gradle build automation tools.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience within Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech environments.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of software security best practices and secure coding principles.
