Java Developer (Spring Boot)

We're looking for a Java Spring Boot Developer to join a project team supporting a leading insurance project in Kuala Lumpur.
About the Role
You'll design and implement backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot, working closely with front-end developers, product managers, and technical leads to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend services using Java/Spring Boot
Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate APIs and support end-to-end functionality
Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Write unit and integration tests (JUnit, Mockito) to ensure application quality and performance
Work with databases and data models for efficient data storage, retrieval, and manipulation
Package and support deployment releases
What We're Looking For
Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot, ideally in a production environment
Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation
Solid knowledge of database systems, SQL, and data modeling
Familiarity with Git and agile development methodologies
Exposure to testing frameworks like JUnit and Mockito is a plus
Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes is a plus
AWS exposure (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS) is a bonus, not required
Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset

Contract: 12 months, yearly renewable based on project continuity
