Java Developer with Python skills

Core responsibilities:

• Deliver tactical and strategic improvements to large scale Java/Mobile based InsideTracker products.
• Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.
• Design, develop and test Java based solutions using common standards and frameworks.
• Translate software requirements into working and maintainable solutions within the existing application frameworks.
• Develop and adhere to best-practices for developing applications.
• Maintain and update all existing Java applications and related technical documentation as needed.
• Work collaboratively with other team members.

Required skills:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or similar in relevant fields.
• Previous working experience in Java development for 3+ years.
• Experience in Spring, Hibernate, JPA, SQL(MySQL), or equivalent J2EE framework software.
• Experience in Python — Flask, Pandas.
• Experience in Python RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of ML algorithms and approaches.
• Excellent skills in DB Schema design and SQL development.
• Good level of competency with Git Source Control.
• Deep experience with RESTful services.
• Experience with Agile software development methodology (Scrum/ Kanban).
• Maintain a healthy balance of disciplined test planning with day-to-day flexibility.
• Background working on mature, 24/7 SaaS web and mobile applications.
• Comfortable with and have experience working in small, fast moving companies with “just enough” process.
• A love for developing software and solving difficult problems with simple solutions.
