Summary
VG & Partners is hiring Java Developers in Portugal to build and maintain a high-concurrency, high-transactional platform. The role centers on Java/OOP back-end work, with preferred exposure to Kafka, REST/SOAP APIs, and streaming/data tools like Cassandra, Storm, and ZooKeeper.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience working with Java or similar OOP languages;
- Experience working with a high concurrency/high transactional platform;
- Ability to understand the dependencies between components and how they combine to deliver service to the consumer and business;
- Drive to encourage appropriate use of reusability techniques (e.g. design patterns, library extraction, new component creation);
- Ability to support and mentor other colleagues;
- Fluency in English.
Preferred
- Familiarity working with API’s such as SOAP, REST;
- Experience working with Kafka and message queueing systems;
- Knowledge of Scala, Akka, memcached, Apache Storm, Apache Cassandra, ZooKeeper;
- Experience in using agile methodologies;
- Ability to interact effectively with other functional teams;
- Excellent communicator, common sense and a passion for the art of problem solving.
