Java Development Engineer — Medellín
About The Role
We\'re looking for a Java Development Engineer to join a long-term international project (+1 year, with continuation). You\'ll work within a cross-functional team, contributing to backend services built on modern Java and Spring-based architectures.
If you take ownership of your code, care about clean architecture, and want to work on real challenges — this role is for you.
What You\'ll Do
- Design and implement microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
- Build and integrate REST, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs
- Work with relational databases and MongoDB
- Collaborate in agile, cross-functional teams
- Maintain code quality through reviews and engineering best practices
- Contribute to technical documentation and architecture decisions
Requirements
Must have:
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Systems, Telecommunications, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in Java development
- Solid knowledge of microservices with Spring (Boot, Cloud, Security)
- API experience: REST, SOAP, GraphQL, XML/XSD, JSON
- Relational databases and MongoDB
- Git for version control
- English B2 (written and spoken — you\'ll work with international teams)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Nice to have:
- Agile / Scrum experience
- Python scripting
- Docker, Kubernetes, or Swarm
- B2B messaging platforms
- Knowledge of digital certificates
Conditions
Modality: Hybrid — 2 days in office, rest from home
Location: Medell\u00edn, Colombia
Salary: up to 6,000,000 COP depending on experience.
Duration: Long-term (+1 year, with continuation)
Languages: English B2 required / Spanish B2 preferred
