Contract End Date: December 31st, 2026

Location: London (5 days per week)

Day Rate: Competitive rate, inside IR35 via Rockford Payroll

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java/Python Engineer to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within a collaborative and innovative environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java and/or Python development, with a solid understanding of modern cloud and DevOps technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust applications using Java and/or Python.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform.
  
• Deploy and manage containerized applications on AWS ECS.
  
• Work with PostgreSQL databases to design and optimize data storage solutions.
  
• Utilize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Spinnaker, or equivalent tooling to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
  
• Ensure code quality, security, and performance through best practices and code reviews.
  
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development processes.
  

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficient in Java and/or Python programming languages.
  
• Strong experience with React for front-end development.
  
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  
• Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS ECS.
  
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL database design and querying.
  
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Spinnaker, or equivalent.
  
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile development environment.
  
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
