Java Engineer – Investment Management

In this role you will contribute to a cloud-native Java stack within a SaaS portfolio management platform. You’ll design, develop and test microservices deployed to AWS, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems. The position emphasizes automation, automated testing and continuous improvement in an open, fast-paced environment. This junior role offers growth potential in a high-profile financial technology setting where you help balance reliability with rapid iteration.

• Design, develop, test and deploy microservices on AWS
• Support other business units by investigating problems, querying data, and building tools
• Work in a collaborative paired environment to solve complex problems
• Collaborate with the engineering team to improve architecture and processes
• Prototype new concepts and use of technology
• Pursue automation across the workflow
• Participate in design/code reviews and knowledge sharing

• Degree in Computer Science, Maths, Physics or similar
• Experience in a Bank, Consultancy, Fund or Asset Manager
• Strong core Java design and development skills
• Understanding of computing fundamentals, OOP, threading, concurrency and distributed systems
• Experience developing multi-threaded Java applications
