Java Engineer to support vendor technology tool for client in investment management industry

Our team supports Murex, a leading investment book of record (IBOR) platform used for trade capture, risk management, and financial reporting. In addition to Murex integration, we own and maintain several Java-based applicationsthat handle data ingress, egress, and transformationto ensure smooth data flow across systems.

You’ll join a collaborative group that includes a Sr Java Engineerand an intermediate contractor based in Sweden. This role will be Toronto-basedand will play a key part in scaling and optimizing our technology stack.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java applicationssupporting data integration with Murex and other systems.
  • Implement data transformation and massaging logicto ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Engineer and global team members to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and best practices for Java development.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ yearsof professional experience in Java development(Java 8+).
  • Strong understanding of data integration, ETL processes, and API development.
  • Experience with Spring Framework, RESTful services, and multithreaded applications.
  • Familiarity with SQLand relational databases.
  • Knowledge of Murexor similar financial systems is a strong asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a distributed team environment.

Nice-to-Have

  • Exposure to investment banking, capital markets, or risk systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms(AWS, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of messaging systems(Kafka, MQ).

Contract: 6 Months + Extension

Hours: 37.5

Work Model: 4 days in office
