Java Full Stack Developer (React, AWS/Azure)
Summary
Build and maintain Java Spring Boot services and React frontends for customer-facing platforms in AWS/Azure, supporting production and adopting AI-assisted development practices.
We are seeking a Java Software Developer (React, AWS/Azure) to build and support customer-facing platforms across a large, long-term ANZ transformation program. You will deliver new features, keep production stable and help adopt an AI-enabled software development lifecycle using tools like GitHub Copilot.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Java services and APIs across multiple business-critical applications
- Build and maintain Spring Boot applications in cloud environments (Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure)
- Deliver new features and platform improvements in cross-functional agile teams (Scrum or Kanban)
- Support production operations including incident triage, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Improve stability, performance and maintainability through continuous improvement and automation
- Partner with Australia and New Zealand stakeholders to clarify requirements and align on outcomes
- Contribute to AI-assisted engineering practices as the team adopts an AI-enabled delivery model
- Participate in shift-based support coverage as needed to meet operational requirements
Requirements
- Java expertise as the primary development skill
- Spring Boot experience within modern Java service architectures
- React capability for required Front-end development tasks
- Cloud platforms exposure, ideally Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
- Production support mindset including calm, structured incident handling
- Stakeholder management skills for a managed-services environment
- Clear communication in spoken English with ANZ-based teams
Nice to have
- Domain exposure to Banking and Financial Services
- Containerization experience in cloud-native enterprise environments
- GitHub familiarity including GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants
- Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) experience
