Full stack developer in Glasgow designing and building scalable microservices-based enterprise applications on AWS. Day to day: Java 11/17+ and Spring Boot backends, React/Angular frontends, REST APIs, SQL databases, Kafka, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD, plus testing, code reviews, and production support in agile teams.
We are seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in Java, Microservices, Cloud technologies, and modern web application development. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience building scalable enterprise applications and working within agile teams.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, and Microservices
- Hands‑on experience with ReactJS or Angular
- Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Experience with AWS Cloud Services
- Knowledge of Kafka or other messaging platforms
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, and DevOps practices
- Strong understanding of software design patterns and best practices
- Experience with application monitoring, observability, and troubleshooting
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full‑stack applications using Java and modern frontend frameworks.
- Build scalable and secure microservices‑based solutions.
- Develop and consume REST APIs and integrate with third‑party systems.
- Work with cloud‑native technologies on AWS.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and project stakeholders.
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, and production support activities.
- Optimize application performance and database queries.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with API security and authentication mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT)
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
