The opportunity

Working in the Open Banking department, you will join the team in charge of the SEPA Payment Suite application, designed and hosted by Worldline.

Rather than creating an isolated unit, we are extending our engineering footprint by building a closely integrated development presence in Romania. You will work hand-in-hand as one unified team with our developers based in France, while sitting alongside our local Business Delivery colleagues in Romania. This setup is designed to maximize synergy, streamline delivery, and foster strong, day-to-day cross-border collaboration.

You will play an active role in functional and technical evolutions, bug fixing, and continuous improvement in an international, agile environment.

Day-to-day responsibilities

Integrated directly into our core development team, you will contribute across the entire software development lifecycle:

  • Agile Ceremonies: Actively participate in backlog refinement sessions, sprint definitions, and sprint planning to evaluate feasibility and estimate effort.
  • Development & Implementation: Design, build, and deliver high-quality solutions for functional enhancements, technical refactoring, and bug resolution.
  • Collaborative Engineering: Practice pair programming and engage in rigorous code reviews, sharing knowledge and ensuring code quality across both locations.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Present and validate implementations with ticket reporters and business stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet business requirements.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Write unit and integration tests, and actively participate in functional testing phases to guarantee robustness and prevent regressions.
  • Deployment & Release: Participate in deployment activities and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Team Support & Mutual Assistance: Provide day-to-day functional and technical support to peers across both the Development and Business Delivery teams.

An initial skills-building phase will enable you to discover our architecture, business domains, and tooling. The team in France and Romania will guide you through this phase to ensure a smooth and successful onboarding.

Who are we looking for

We look for big thinkers. People who can drive positive change, step up, and show what’s next – people with passion, a can-do attitude, and a hunger to learn and grow. In practice, this means:

  • Profile: 5+ years of solid experience in software development with Java and Angular.
    • Strong team player who thrives in a collaborative, distributed cross-border environment.
    • Ability to take a step back, think critically, and assess the broader functional and architectural impacts of any code modification before implementation.
    • Autonomous, proactive, and solution-oriented.
    • Solid mastery of the Java ecosystem (Spring / Spring Boot, modern Java versions) and Angular.
    • Good understanding of relational databases, REST APIs, and modern CI/CD practices (Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins or GitLab CI).
    • Familiarity with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) workflows.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required (spoken and written). French is a nice-to-have.

Perks & Benefits

At Worldline you’ll get the chance to be at the heart of the global payments technology industry and shape how the world pays and gets paid. On top of that, you will also:
