Methods Consulting is seeking a Java/Python Developer to work on system design and microservices. The role requires extensive experience with Java, Python, Spring, and relational database modeling.

Salary: £70,000 - 110,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We are looking for a Java / Python Developer with good exposure to Spring Boot, microservices, and system design.
  • We require 6+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Python, Spring, and RDBMS.
  • We require strong object-oriented design and development skills, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • We require excellent analytical ability.
  • We require strong experience with relational database logical modelling.
  • We require strong skills in querying large relational databases in an optimized manner.
  • We value a culture of incorporating unit test cases when designing systems using JUnit.
  • We require the ability to write scripts in Shell, Perl, or Python.
  • We require strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • We expect the candidate to work in a global team and communicate clearly and concisely.
  • We require the ability to work independently while following proper coding standards.
  • We value exposure to leveraging AI agents and automation tools across software development, validation, and production deployment.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience would generally be expected for this role.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
Responsibilities:
  • We manage, build, develop, and design Java applications.
  • We develop new and enhance existing Market Risk applications.
  • We work as part of an Agile squad, following Agile principles and applying DevOps practices.
  • We collaborate with business partners and stakeholders.
  • We shape the tooling and technology landscape of Risk Management by introducing tools that enable better business processes and support the firms regulatory obligations.
