We are looking for an experienced Java / Kotlin Backend Developer to join a mobile engineering team, building scalable, high-performance backend services for mobile applications used by millions of customers worldwide.

Role: Backend Developer / Server-Side Engineer
You will work on the Backend for Frontend (BFF) API layer, developing reliable microservices and collaborating with engineers, product managers, designers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices.
- Build REST APIs and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services for mobile applications.
- Develop solutions using Java 17+ and/or Kotlin, leveraging Spring and Spring Boot.
- Write clean, maintainable, testable, and production-ready code.
- Refactor legacy applications and improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Develop and maintain automated build processes using Gradle.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop asynchronous and concurrent applications.
- Troubleshoot production issues, debug defects, and optimize application performance.
- Implement unit tests and automated testing practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience in Java 17+ and/or Kotlin.
- Solid experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience with REST API development and integration.
- Hands-on experience with Gradle and build automation.
- Understanding of asynchronous programming and concurrent applications.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
- Experience working with legacy systems and enterprise backend services.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience developing Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services.
- Knowledge of GraphQL (GQL) and RAML.
- Experience supporting large-scale, customer-facing mobile applications.
- Familiarity with modern software engineering practices and open-source technologies.
