ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY


We are looking for a Senior Java Software Developer to support software development activities for regulatory technology solutions in the financial markets and corporate services sector. This role focuses on building reliable, secure and high-performing applications, working closely with product, development and delivery teams in an Agile environment.


WHAT YOU WILL DO


  • Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.
  • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable Java code.
  • Ensure application performance, quality and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners to align delivery with business requirements and timelines.
  • Prioritise and support the early resolution of client issues in line with agreed service levels.
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to critical feature designs.
  • Ensure the quality, maintainability and reliability of team deliverables.
  • Identify technical debt and improvement areas, ensuring they are documented and considered during prioritisation.
  • Implement and maintain documentation to support knowledge base, onboarding and knowledge transfer.
  • Identify bottlenecks, bugs and technical issues, and design appropriate solutions.
  • Follow Agile Scrum practices for application development.
  • Contribute to secure and privacy-aware software development practices.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Java development.
  • Strong experience with recent Java versions and Spring Boot.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS, microservices architecture and design patterns.
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Comfortable working with DevOps practices, configuration management and deployment patterns.
  • Solid understanding of API security and data privacy best practices.
  • Proficiency in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.
  • Collaborative, responsible and quality-oriented mindset.
