Java Software Engineer

Summary

Build and maintain Java-based enterprise applications using Spring Boot or J2EE, Hibernate/JPA, and SQL databases.

Salary: £40,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Commercial Java development experience.
  • Experience with Spring Boot or J2EE.
  • Experience with Hibernate / JPA.
  • Experience with SQL Server or MySQL.
  • Experience with Linux (Red Hat, Rocky Linux or similar).
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A proactive attitude with a genuine sense of ownership.
  • Desirable: experience with Vaadin.
  • Desirable: experience with GXT / GWT.
  • Desirable: experience with HTML5 and CSS.
  • Desirable: experience with RESTful APIs.
  • Desirable: experience with Git.
  • Desirable: full software development lifecycle experience.
  • Must be eligible to obtain UK Government Security Clearance.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop enterprise Java applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Build responsive web applications and user interfaces.
  • Develop robust backend services and REST APIs.
  • Design, maintain and optimise SQL databases.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers and colleagues to understand requirements and design effective solutions.
  • Take ownership of projects from design through to deployment and ongoing support.
  • Contribute to a long-term product redevelopment programme.
