Senior Java Engineer (Java 17/21) | Remote/Hybrid

Contract Type: 1 year + Extension
Hourly Rate: €30
We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join a talented engineering team building scalable, resilient, and high-throughput backend services. This is an opportunity to work with modern Java technologies, event-driven architectures, cloud-native platforms, and cutting-edge distributed systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing high-performance microservices using Java 17/21 and Spring Boot.
- Building and maintaining distributed systems leveraging gRPC, Protobuf, and event-driven architectures.
- Developing reactive and asynchronous applications using Project Reactor, RxJava, or modern Java concurrency frameworks.
- Creating scalable integrations with Kafka, databases, and cloud-native services.
- Driving engineering excellence through robust testing, code reviews, design documentation, and technical leadership.
- Collaborating across teams to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
- Contributing to architecture decisions, system design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience:
- 8+ years of professional Java development experience
- 3+ years working with Java 17 or Java 21
- Spring Framework / Spring Boot
- Production-grade backend services
- Microservices architecture
