Summary

A JavaScript engineer builds and delivers client-side features for streaming services across web, mobile, and TV platforms, working in Agile teams. Salary: £58,000 - 98,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Must have experience with JavaScript, including vanilla JS, prototypes, scoping, design patterns, and memory profiling.
  • Track record of successful software delivery through all phases of development, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Working knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, and extreme programming.
  • Familiar with build automation and continuous integration.
  • Ability to write unit tests using JavaScript in a common library such as Jasmine.
  • Experience of working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Experience with Node.js or other programming languages is desirable.
  • Cross-platform development experience, preferably on smart TV and consoles, is desirable.
  • Experience developing a high-profile digital video service is desirable.
  • Test-driven development experience is desirable.
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes is desirable.
Responsibilities:

  • We develop new features and launch new platforms.
  • We design and build world-leading streaming services across web, mobile, and TV platforms.
  • We work on new feature releases and evolve the next phase of our application framework.
  • We deliver high-quality, robust, and testable code in line with our internal engineering procedures, code conventions, and development methodologies.
  • We contribute to comprehensive documentation that supports development and support lifecycles.
  • We continually improve software deployment to enable iterative releases and rapid updates across all platforms.
  • We mentor and support other developers in their day-to-day work.
  • We monitor system performance and resolve issues or failures in staging or production environments.
