JavaScript Developer

Summary

JavaScript developer building interactive client interfaces in React, Vue or Angular from Figma designs, plus Node.js APIs and services that often integrate with PHP systems, shipped via Docker with code reviews and monitoring. Requires 5+ years commercial experience; based in Ancoats, Manchester.

JavaScript is the one language every browser runs natively, which makes it the tool for interfaces that respond as the user works: dashboards, booking flows, quote builders, client portals. When a page needs that, we build it in React, Vue or Angular. When it does not, the framework stays out.

On the server you will write Node.js services and APIs, often next to the PHP systems they talk to. Everything ships in Docker, is reviewed before it goes live and is measured once it is there.

What you will be doing

  • Build interactive interfaces in React, Vue or Angular, from Figma designs to production.
  • Write Node.js APIs and services, and the integrations behind them.
  • Keep bundles small and Core Web Vitals in the green on the pages you own.
  • Handle loading, errors and empty states as carefully as the main path.
  • Review colleagues' code and have yours reviewed.

What you will need

  • At least five years of commercial work in this field that you can show us. We promise clients that everyone on their project has that, so it is not negotiable.
  • Applications in React, Vue or Angular that you built and supported, that we can use.
  • Node.js on the server, in production, with the logging to show it.
  • Plain JavaScript you know well enough to see what the framework is doing for you.
  • Accessibility in practice: keyboard, focus, screen reader.

Useful, not required

  • TypeScript.
  • Testing with Jest, Vitest or Playwright.
