Jnr Data and Systems Administrator

Purpose:

To accurately report, analyse, and interpret product and policyholder data to support strategic decision‑making and operational efficiency across the organization.

Key Objective:

Ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive data reporting, analytics, and insight generation across all business units.

Duties & Responsibilities

DATA MAINTENANCE & QUALITY CONTROL:

• Clean, validate, and organize datasets

• Identify trends and anomalies

• Document data transformation processes

• Reconcile data across systems

• Implement data quality improvements

• Ensure regular updates and backups

• Identify business risks and opportunities through data

• Recommend system/process enhancements

• Automate reporting workflows

• Standardize data sets and reporting formats

• Contribute to BI and analytics strategy

SYSTEM SUPPORT & INTEGRATION:

• Draft system specifications for new developments

• Support testing and deployment cycles

• Maintain training materials

• Verify product migrations and enhancements

• Update system documentation

• Collaborate with IT and development teams

• Ensure reporting logic accuracy

REPORTING & BUSINESS ANALYTICS:

• Prepare monthly performance dashboards

• Design Power BI and Excel reports

• Communicate insights to management

• Maintain project tracking tools

• Define reporting requirements with stakeholders

Desired Experience & Qualification

Experience and Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in a data analytics or reporting role

• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and Word

• Experience in data cleaning, validation, analysis, and visualization

• Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• High attention to detail, strong accuracy, and problem-solving ability

• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines

• Commitment to data integrity and confidentiality

• Self-motivated and collaborative team player

• Willingness to work overtime when required

Competencies:

• Technical Skills: SQL, Power BI, Excel

  • Advanced data modelling and reporting automation with Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and Word

• Analytical Skills: Validation, Forecasting

  • Identifying trends, solving problems, and generating insights

Package & Remuneration

R 20 000.00 – R30 000.00 per month CTC depending on qualification and experience
