[Job - 31296] Master Backend Developer / Tech Lead — Java, Go & AWS, Brazil

This role is for a Senior Backend Engineer and Tech Lead to design and build high-performance, cloud-native backend services on AWS. The position involves leading technical teams, implementing event-driven architectures, and managing infrastructure using Java, Go, and Terraform.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer / Tech Lead to design and build high-performance backend services and cloud-native infrastructure on AWS. You will work with modern technologies (Java 21, Spring Boot 3, Go, Kubernetes, Terraform) to deliver scalable, secure and observable platforms, while leading the team technically and collaborating daily in English with international stakeholders.

Must-Have Skills (Required):

Backend Engineering

  • Java 21 with Spring Boot 3.x as core backend stack.
  • Go for real-time streaming / relay services.
  • REST API design using Spring Web and OpenFeign.
  • MongoDB / DocumentDB: data modeling, Mongock migrations, QueryDSL.
  • Redis for caching (Spring Data Redis).
  • WebSocket and real-time communication patterns.
  • Spring Security, OAuth2/OIDC (Cognito integration).
  • Event-driven architectures: SNS, SQS, Spring Integration, state machines.

DevOps / Infrastructure

  • Terraform (modules, service composition, state management).
  • AWS services: EKS, ECR, Lambda, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFront, SSM, Secrets Manager, API Gateway.
  • Kubernetes (deployments, service accounts, IRSA, namespaces).
  • Docker (multi-stage builds, container security best practices).
  • GitLab CI/CD (pipelines and multi-environment promotion: dev → test → UAT → prod).
  • Networking concepts: NLB, DNS, security groups, WAF.
  • Monitoring & observability: CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Micrometer/Prometheus.
  • Secrets management: AWS Secrets Manager and SSM Parameter Store.

Communication & Leadership

  • Comfortable communicating daily in English and explaining complex technical ideas clearly.
  • Ideally experience as PDM (Product/Delivery Management) and team leadership (technical guidance, mentoring).

Nice to Have:

  • Video/media infrastructure: SRS, FFmpeg, RTMP/SRT, AWS MediaLive, MediaPackage.
  • Rust for performance-critical Lambda workloads.
  • SonarQube and other code quality tooling.
  • Cost optimization and capacity planning on AWS.
  • Gradle build system (Groovy + Kotlin DSL).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and maintain backend services in Java and Go for high-availability and real-time use cases.
  • Define and evolve REST APIs, event-driven flows and real-time communication patterns.
  • Build and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform and Kubernetes (EKS).
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, ensuring secure, repeatable deployments across environments.
  • Implement observability, monitoring and alerting to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering and other stakeholders, communicating clearly in English.
  • Provide technical leadership to the team: code reviews, architecture decisions, mentoring and best practices.
  • Contribute to cost optimization, capacity planning and security hardening of the platform.
