Job Opportunity: Microsoft SCOM Engineer Migration Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft SCOM Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in SCOM infrastructure, upgrades, migrations, and monitoring solutions. The ideal candidate should have experience managing SCOM environments, performing side-by-side deployments, migrating Management Packs, and monitoring Windows and Linux/UNIX servers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Microsoft SCOM upgrades, migrations, side-by-side deployments, and major version transitions.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux/UNIX monitoring through SCOM.
• Handle SCOM Reporting and SSRS configuration and administration.
• Manage and troubleshoot SCOM Management Servers, Resource Pools, and Gateway Servers.
• Perform Management Pack migration using SCOM PowerShell modules.
• Work with Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, Windows Server, certificates, and PKI.
• Implement and troubleshoot Linux monitoring using SCX/OMI, WS-Man, and certificates.
• Ensure smooth migration activities with proper planning, validation, and documentation.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SCOM.
• Experience in SCOM upgrades, migration, and side-by-side deployments.
• Windows and Linux/UNIX monitoring using SCOM.
• SCOM Reporting and SSRS.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, certificates/PKI, and Windows Server.
• Linux monitoring concepts, including SCX/OMI, WS-Man, and certificates.
• Experience with SCOM PowerShell modules for Management Pack migration.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Strong troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and technical documentation skills.
• Experience preparing migration trackers, compatibility matrices, validation evidence, known issues, and SOPs.
• Experience working with Management Servers, Resource Pools, and Gateway Servers.
