Joint Operations Center (JOC) Watch Specialist
Position Summary
As a Joint Operations Center (JOC) Watch Specialist you will support a high-priority Special Operations and Joint Interagency mission in Fort Bliss Texas and Tucson Arizona. This position serves as a critical member of the operations watch floor, maintaining situational awareness, integrating intelligence, coordinating operational activities, and supporting command decision-making in a dynamic, 24/7 mission environment
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Monitor classified and unclassified intelligence reporting related to operational activities and emerging threats.
- Maintain continuous situational awareness of ongoing operations and provide timely updates to command leadership.
- Monitor Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations and provide operational direction to ISR assets as required.
- Produce intelligence reports, operational summaries, and situational updates in accordance with Intelligence Community standards and tradecraft.
- Support the Common Operational Picture (COP) by integrating operational, intelligence, and mission data from multiple command systems.
- Track Requests for Information (RFIs) from subordinates, adjacent, and higher headquarters and ensure timely coordination and response.
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize operational information from multiple classified and unclassified sources to support command decision-making.
- Maintain operational metrics, mission databases, and reporting systems to support operational assessments and leadership reporting.
- Monitor and manage multiple operational networks, mission systems, and data management applications supporting Joint Operations Center activities.
- Prepare and deliver written and verbal operational briefings to command leadership and higher headquarters.
- Produce official operational messages, mission requirements, Fragmentary Orders (FRAGOs), and other command communications.
- Maintain and safeguard operational information across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and other classified systems while ensuring compliance with security and classification requirements.
- Utilize intelligence tools, including Maven Smart System, Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) resources, and other mission systems to enhance operational awareness.
- Perform additional mission-related duties as required in support of evolving operational requirements.
Requirements
Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.
- Education & Experience:
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered where applicable.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting military or government operations within a Joint Operations Center (JOC), Tactical Operations Center (TOC), Command Center, Intelligence Watch Floor, or similar operational environment.
Technical Expertise:
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple operational tasks while maintaining situational awareness in a high-tempo environment.
- Experience preparing intelligence reports, operational summaries, or command briefings.
- Working knowledge of Intelligence Community directives, intelligence reporting standards, and intelligence tradecraft.
Clearance:
- Must have a current and active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Preferred (Nice to Have):
Experience supporting USSOCOM, USNORTHCOM, Joint Task Forces, Special Mission Units (SMUs), or Joint Interagency organizations.
- Experience as a Joint Operations Center Watch Officer, Operations Specialist, ISR Tactical Controller, Intelligence Watch Officer, or Command Center operator.
- Familiarity with Maven Smart System and other ISR exploitation tools.
- Experience utilizing Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) platforms and classified intelligence systems.
- ISR Tactical Controller (ITC) Certification or equivalent operational ISR experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience briefing senior military leadership.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, supporting 24/7 operations.
Travel Requirements
Up to 10% travel for Temporary Duty Yonder (TDY) by motor vehicle and/or air travel may be required; some overnight stays possible.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Periods of prolonged sitting and/or standing, including desk-based computer work.
- Travel between work locations, including company offices, customer sites, and government installations.
- Occasional extended work hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed.
- Transport and use of work equipment, such as laptops and job-related tools, during site visits.
- Work is performed in a secure facility where personal electronic devices (including Bluetooth- or Wi-Fi-enabled devices) may be restricted.
- Communication with team members, customers, and stakeholders through verbal and written methods.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work under deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Interaction with others in dynamic environments, including situations requiring problem-solving and conflict resolution.
