Journeyman Electrician

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local and state codes
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to determine layout of electrical systems
• Install conduit, raceways, cable tray, panels, switchgear, transformers, and related electrical distribution equipment
• Pull, terminate, and connect wiring for power, lighting, and control systems
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical malfunctions using appropriate testing devices and repair or replace faulty components
• Ensure all work complies with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and project-specific safety plans
• Coordinate with project superintendents, foremen, and other trades to maintain project schedules
• Mentor and provide direction to apprentices and helpers on site
• Maintain accurate documentation including timesheets, material usage, and job progress reports
• Operate hand and power tools, lifts, and other equipment safely and appropriately
• Participate in job site inspections and support quality control efforts
