Jr. Backend Developer

The Backend Developer supports the development and maintenance of server-side logic, APIs, and system integrations for client-facing applications. This role focuses on learning and contributing to backend solutions under the guidance of senior developers, ensuring functionality, security, and performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Backend Development and Maintenance:

• Assist in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of backend services, server-side logic, and APIs based on defined technical requirements and coding standards.
• Support senior developers in implementing backend features that ensure application stability, scalability, and performance.
• Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and ensure adherence to development guidelines.
• Refactor and optimize existing backend code to improve readability, maintainability, and efficiency
• Integration & API Support:
• Assist in building, testing, and maintaining RESTful APIs to support frontend and external system integrations.
• Support database interactions, including basic query creation, optimization, and data validation.
• Help integrate third-party services, tools, and external APIs under guidance.
• Contribute to API documentation, ensuring endpoints, parameters, and responses are clearly defined and updated.

Quality, Security & Testing:

• Perform basic unit testing and debugging to identify and resolve defects in backend code.
• Follow secure coding practices to protect data, prevent vulnerabilities, and comply with internal security standards.
• Assist in troubleshooting issues across development, staging, and production environments.
• Support QA and DevOps teams during deployments by validating backend readiness and resolving post-deployment issues.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, QA engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to align backend solutions with business requirements.
• Maintain clear and updated technical documentation for developed features, APIs, and processes.
• Provide timely updates on task progress, risks, and blockers to the development team.
