Red Ember is looking for an Accountant / Junior Accountant to join a professional accounting and tax practice based in Pretoria. The role will provide exposure to bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax compliance, and SARS-related matters, supporting a portfolio of individual and business clients.
Requirements
- Full capturing and processing of cashbook information from bank statements through to the preparation of Financial Statements.
- Performing bank reconciliations and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.
- Assisting with the preparation and compilation of financial statements.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Preparing and submitting Personal Income Tax returns.
- Handling correspondence and communication with SARS on behalf of clients.
- Assisting with SARS queries, appointments, and general tax administration.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Ensuring accounting and tax information is processed accurately and within required deadlines.
- Working closely with senior accounting staff and clients to resolve accounting and tax-related queries.
- Developing practical accounting and tax knowledge through on-the-job training.
Requirements
- BCom degree in Accounting/Finance is required, or candidates currently studying towards a BCom degree will be considered.
- For junior candidates, Accounting as a Grade 12 subject is required.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication skills, particularly when dealing with clients and SARS.
- Ability to work independently while also being willing to learn and receive guidance.
