About the Role

The M-W Nuts Company is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accounting Officer to support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, assist with reconciliations, and contribute to financial reporting and audit processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and financial records.
• Record and update financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
• Assist with financial audits and internal audit activities.
• Reconcile accounting records with company systems and software.
• Process routine expenses and prepare payment requests.
• Assist with bank, cash, and petty cash reconciliations.
• Support monthly financial reporting and account reconciliations.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on supporting documents.
• Verify inventory and fixed asset records when required.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in an accounting support role.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks, ERP systems, or other accounting software is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and statutory remittances is an added advantage.
