Junior Automation Tester

Key Responsibilities

• Review business requirements, functional specifications, and manual test cases to identify automation opportunities.

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Tricentis Tosca or other automation testing tools.

• Create reusable, data-driven test cases and automated test suites.

• Execute automated regression, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and end-to-end testing.

• Validate application functionality, integrations, workflows, and business processes.

• Identify, investigate, document, and track defects throughout the testing lifecycle.

• Analyze test results, troubleshoot automation issues, and provide testing status updates to stakeholders.

• Support API integration testing and automated business process validation.

• Prepare and validate test data, including performing data checks using SQL queries and application outputs.

• Analyze logs and assist in identifying the root causes of test execution failures.

• Maintain automation scripts, test repositories, execution reports, and supporting documentation.

• Support implementation testing, production validation, and post-deployment verification as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• 1–4 years of experience in IT development, programming, and testing.

• Participation in at least one project or release as an automation or manual tester, with involvement throughout the project lifecycle.

• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

• Familiarity with Tricentis Tosca or other automation testing tools.

• Understanding of automated test script development, maintenance, test case design, and data-driven testing.

• Knowledge of SIT, UAT, regression testing, and end-to-end testing.

• Basic to intermediate SQL skills and understanding of data validation.

• Familiarity with API integration testing, XML validation, defect management, and test result analysis.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Good documentation, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Willingness to learn new automation frameworks and continuously improve testing practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools.

• Exposure to banking, financial services, or regulatory reporting systems.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Exposure to JMeter or other performance and load testing tools.

• Experience in implementation testing, production validation, or disaster recovery testing.

• ISTQB Foundation Level certification or relevant automation testing and QA certifications.
