Junior Backend Software Developer
Description
We are looking for a Junior Backend Software Developer to join our backend development team. You will work on backend services that support Edge IoT devices used by customers across a variety of industries. Depending on the project, you may contribute to REST APIs, device integrations, data processing, testing tools, or our IoT platform.
Requirements

• At least one year of commercial experience in backend development, preferably using Python.
• Solid understanding of Python fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and error handling.
• Understanding of REST APIs and how backend services communicate.
• Familiarity with a Python web framework such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Understanding of core programming concepts and debugging techniques.
• Basic knowledge of databases and data persistence.
• Familiarity with Linux as a development environment.
• Good experience with Git as a version control system.
• Interest in IoT and connected devices, with experience using microcontrollers, development boards, or an RTOS.
• Basic understanding of communication protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, or similar.
• Interest in experimenting with AI-powered development tools and reviewing the code they produce.
• Ability to communicate clearly, ask questions, and work effectively as part of a team.
• Curiosity, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend software under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Implement features, fix bugs, and improve existing code.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and integrations with databases and other services.
• Contribute to services that receive, process, and store data from Edge IoT devices.
• Investigate backend and device integration issues using logs, debuggers, and testing tools.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team planning.
• Create clear technical documentation for implemented features and development workflows.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge or experience with Docker.
• Experience with Zephyr RTOS.
• Hobby projects with Arduino, ESP32, nRF52, or similar platforms.
