Junior Bitumen Trader
Summary
Assists in trading bitumen by analyzing global markets, executing contracts, and managing relationships with suppliers and buyers.
- Key Responsibilities
- Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze global bitumen/asphalt market trends, supply-demand fundamentals, and macro-economic factors to support trading decisions.
- Trade Execution: Assist in the execution of physical purchase and sale contracts, ensuring alignment with company risk management policies.
- Portfolio Support: Help manage the trading book by tracking positions, exposure, and Profit & Loss (P&L) reports.
- Counterparty Management: Build and maintain relationships with international buyers, suppliers, and shippers.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics,International Trade, or a related Engineering field.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in commodity trading, logistics, or operations (experience in oil & gas or bitumen is a significant advantage).
- Skills: Strong numerical and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and data analysis.
- Communication: Excellent negotiation skills and fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin is required to coordinate with our China-based refinery teams.
- Attributes: A high degree of integrity, ability to work under pressure, and a proactive "can-do" attitude.
Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with the Logistics and Finance teams to ensure smooth trade settlements and timely delivery of products from our refineries.
