We are looking for a Junior Business Analyst (Estonian-speaking) with good analytical, documentation, and communication skills to work closely with public-sector customers, product owners, and delivery teams to translate business needs into clear, testable, and implementable system requirements.
The Analyst will:
- Analyse current and target business processes, data flows, and system interactions.
- Produce structured specifications (business requirements, use cases, user stories, data models, process diagrams).
- Support development and testing teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Communicate with the customer (in Estonian) to clarify requirements and validate solutions.
- Act as part of the team of analysts, and a contact for the customer in the Estonian language.
- Elicit and document business and system requirements (interviews, workshops, document analysis).
- Analyse and model end-to-end business processes; propose optimized “to-be” processes and system behaviour.
- Prepare functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Perform data analysis (including database queries, primarily PostgreSQL) to understand existing data and validate requirements.
- Collaborate with other analysts, architects and developers on solution design and integration scenarios.
- Work closely with QA to ensure requirements are testable and properly covered in test cases.
- Support Agile delivery: participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to user documentation and support business stakeholders during UAT.
- Test the system, after developers have delivered their work, focusing on the analyzed requirements
- Fluent Estonian (spoken and written) for direct communication with customer representatives.
- 2 years of experience in IT industry, not necessarily in business analyst role
- Knowledge of business analysis concepts and principles
- End-to-end business process and data analysis experience:
- Has participated in at least one software development or modification project with a personal workload of at least 500 working hours, abilite to analyse the end-to-end business process solution
- Performed data analysis and produced at least one new optimized business process as a result of this work.
- Database skills:
- Has participated in at least one software development or modification project in which they have executed database queries in a PostgreSQL database management system (for analysis, validation, or reporting).
- Strong skills in requirements engineering, process modelling (e.g., BPMN), and system specification.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery practices (Scrum ceremonies, backlog refinement, incremental delivery).
- Good command of English for internal communication.
- Experience working in regulated or public-sector projects (e.g., Government Entities, state registers, public services).
- Experience with documentation and analysis standards used in government or large enterprises.
- Hands-on work with tools such as Jira, Confluence, modelling tools (e.g., , BPMN tools, etc), and collaboration platforms.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., IIBA, Scrum, Agile Analysis, or similar).
