Junior Buyer

Working location: Doha, Qatar

Key responsibilities:

• Manage procurement of goods, materials, and services to ensure that operational needs are met, considering price, quality, on-time delivery, and continuity of supply.
• Process incoming customer requests (workflow transactions, purchase requisitions, email requests, etc.), ensuring agreed cycle time and quality standards while maintaining high customer/user satisfaction.
• Process purchase requisitions promptly and accurately to support business needs.
• Proactively follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding quotations, product availability, and order status updates.
• Prepare and issue requests for quotation (RFQs), collect, and organize supplier quotations.
• Evaluate and compare supplier quotations based on price, quality, and delivery terms, supporting the selection process.
• Assist in negotiating pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and support the onboarding process for new vendors.
• Address and resolve supplier-related issues, including delivery delays, shortages, and quality discrepancies.
• Monitor order status and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
• Support inventory planning activities to ensure material availability as required.
• Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities and alternative sourcing options.
• Track and report on supplier performance and delivery reliability.
• Assist in spend analysis and reporting activities.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and workflows.
• Maintain and update supplier master data to ensure that the database is accurate and up to date.
• Monitor supplier delivery and quality performance, escalate findings to relevant stakeholders, and address performance issues with suppliers as necessary.

Requirements:

• Knowledge and experience of SAP, Ariba, and procurement tools will be an advantage.
• Proficient Microsoft skills (Excel, word processing, PowerPoint).
• Years of experience: 4-7 years.
• Academic background: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in technical/commercial or other relevant education.
• Visa status: Transferable visa/NOC available.
• Available in Qatar.
• Maximum of 30 days notice period for joining.
