Junior Cash Application Analyst
Role Overview
Execute day to day cash posting activities within the Order to Cash process under close guidance. Post customer payments against open items, match remittances, clear suspense/on account items, and support bank reconciliations and month end tasks. Maintain high data accuracy, follow Versigent controls and work instructions, and collaborate with Collections/Credit and Treasury to ensure timely, compliant, and high quality cash application service.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Cash Posting & Clearing
• Post daily incoming cash to customer accounts (bank statements, lockbox, SEPA/ACH, wire, checks).
• Match remittances and reference data (payer, invoice, amount, discounts, short pays); clear unapplied/on account items per SOP.
• Escalate missing/incomplete remittance info; support invoice level research with Collections/Credit.
• Support month end close activities (cut offs, checklists, reconciliations).
2. Controls, Documentation & Compliance
• Follow documented work instructions/SOPs, segregation of duties, and basic control checks.
• Maintain accurate posting records and audit trail; file supporting evidence (SharePoint/Workflow).
• Support internal/external audit requests.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration
• Communicate proactively with Collections, Credit, Billing, Treasury and local finance to resolve mismatches and missing data.
• Provide timely status updates and respond to inquiries professionally.
4. Continuous Improvement
• Identify minor issues (e.g., recurring remittance gaps) and propose simple fixes.
• Update checklists and suggest SOP clarifications.
Basic Requirements (R – required, P – preferred)
Education & Experience
- Education in Finance/Accounting/Economics or related (P).
- At least 1 year in AR/OTC/cash application or accounting operations (P).
- Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of AR and OTC cash flow (R).
- MS Excel (lookups, filters, pivots basic) (R).
- Exposure to SAP/major ERP and bank portals (P).
- Ability to read bank statements and remittance advices (R).
Soft Skills
- English (written/spoken) at working proficiency (R).
- High attention to detail, numerical accuracy (R).
- Good organization, time management, ability to meet daily cut‑offs (R).
- Teamwork, willingness to learn, positive and proactive attitude (R).
- Flexibility to support shift coverage when needed (P).
