Junior Chef – Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a motivated and passionate Junior Chef to join a private game lodge in Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring chef to develop their culinary skills within a lodge environment while contributing to a high standard of food preparation and guest dining experiences.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist with the daily preparation and service of meals.
  

• Prepare fresh, high-quality dishes in accordance with the lodge's standards.
  

• Support senior chefs with menu preparation and execution.
  

• Maintain excellent kitchen hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards.
  

• Assist with stock control, food storage and ingredient rotation.
  

• Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented to a high standard.
  

• Work efficiently as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment.
  

• Follow recipes, portion control guidelines and kitchen procedures.
  

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen would be advantageous.
  

• A culinary qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
  

• A genuine passion for cooking and a willingness to learn.
  

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  

• Ability to work under pressure and meet service deadlines.
  

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  

• A positive attitude and professional approach to kitchen operations.
  

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  

Salary: R10,000 per month.
