Junior Cyber Security Analyst
Summary
Level 1 analyst in a 24/7 Security Operations Centre: monitoring and triaging alerts, investigating incidents, threat hunting, and supporting vulnerability management, mostly working from home on a rotating roster. Centred on the Microsoft security stack — Sentinel, Defender, and SIEM/EDR/XDR tooling.

This is a genuine Level 1 SOC opportunity for someone who already has practical cyber security experience and wants to continue developing within a strong Microsoft security environment.
You will work across security monitoring, alert triage, incident investigation and broader SOC activities, with support from experienced analysts and engineers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring, triaging and escalating security alerts
- Supporting the investigation and response to security incidents
- Working across SIEM, EDR and XDR technologies
- Using security data to identify anomalies and support incident analysis
- Assisting with threat hunting and threat intelligence activities
- Supporting vulnerability management and remediation follow-up
- Maintaining accurate incident documentation and shift handovers
- Contributing to SOC reporting and process improvement
- Working closely with senior analysts, engineers and SOC leadership
- At least 12 months of hands-on experience in a SOC or Cyber Security Analyst role within a live environment
- Practical experience monitoring, triaging and investigating security alerts
- Experience with SIEM technologies
- Exposure to the Microsoft security ecosystem is highly regarded, particularly Microsoft Sentinel and Defender
- Experience with another SIEM platform will also be considered
- AZ-900 or SC-900 certification
- SC-200 certification, or a willingness to obtain it within the first 1–3 months of joining
- A relevant qualification in Cyber Security, Information Technology or a related discipline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A genuine interest in continuing to develop your career in cyber security
