Junior Data Center Operations & Maintenance/Server Engineer

About the role

This role involves server deployment, handling, troubleshooting, and IT asset management within a data center environment. You will perform server receiving, racking, unracking, relocation, and equipment handling under supervision, assist with server troubleshooting and decommissioning, manage IT asset and warehouse operations, and support routine inspections and operational activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform server receiving, racking, unracking, relocation, and equipment handling within the same campus under the guidance and supervision of mid-level engineers or the site supervisor

• Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with approved O&M procedures and data center safety requirements

• Assist with standard server TPC troubleshooting, server decommissioning, and disk removal activities under the supervision of authorized personnel

• Do not open GPU server chassis or plug/unplug internal GPU server components

• Manage IT asset receiving, inbound/outbound transactions, and warehouse operations in accordance with established procedures

• Conduct monthly physical inventories and two full physical inventories per year

• Verify physical asset serial numbers against asset records and ensure inventory information is accurate and up to date

• Perform all on-site activities strictly within the approved Permit-to-Work (PTW) scope

• Maintain complete photo and video records of on-site activities as required

• Accurately and promptly complete all relevant O&M tickets, work records, and operational documentation

About you

• Associate degree, college diploma, or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline

• 1+ years of hands-on PC/x86 server maintenance experience, with a solid understanding of basic server hardware architecture and components

• Basic knowledge of Linux configuration, system administration, and first-level fault diagnosis

• Basic understanding of IDC power distribution and cooling systems, as well as fundamental knowledge of data center operations, maintenance, and basic audit requirements

• Detail-oriented, meticulous, and disciplined, with strong adherence to on-site management requirements, operational procedures, and data center safety regulations

• Fluent in Chinese
