Junior Data QA Engineer

Job Description: Entry-Level Data Tester

An entry-level Data Tester who will execute assigned data testing tasks under the guidance of a Senior Engineer or Data QA Lead. The role focuses on learning data testing standards, validating data accuracy, and developing technical skills, with opportunities for career growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform data validation, regression, and source-to-target testing using standard procedures.

• Write and execute SQL queries to check data accuracy, row counts, transformations, and data quality.

• Document test results and defects in Azure DevOps, including supporting evidence.

• Retest fixes and verify that defects are resolved.

• Assist in test data preparation and environment readiness checks.

• Execute assigned automated regression tests and report results.

• Participate in daily scrum meetings and backlog refinement sessions.

• Complete training and certification programs in SQL, Python, and Databricks.

• Use AI tools such as Claude and Copilot to assist in writing test cases and reviewing queries, ensuring all outputs are validated.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in QA Testing, Data Analysis, or a related technical role.

• Fresh graduates with strong SQL skills are welcome.

• Basic knowledge of SQL, including joins, filtering, aggregation, and reconciliation.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow testing procedures.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Willingness to learn Python, data warehousing, and Databricks.

• Ability to work in an Agile team and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Python, ETL/ELT, or data warehousing.

• Exposure to Azure DevOps or similar tools.

• ISTQB Foundation certification.

• Internship or project experience in banking or financial services.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
