About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Data Scientist to join a growing data team focused on transforming large volumes of data into actionable insights. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong quantitative background who enjoys solving complex problems using statistical methods, machine learning, and programming.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop analytical models, identify business opportunities through data, and contribute to data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize statistical and machine learning models.
  • Apply advanced analytical techniques, including multivariate statistics, predictive modeling, and network analysis.
  • Clean, transform, and prepare structured and unstructured data for analysis.
  • Build reproducible analytical workflows using Python and/or R.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations through clear visualizations and reports.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytical methodologies and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline such as Physics, Engineering, or another field with a strong mathematical and statistical foundation.
  • Ideally, a Master's Degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working on analytical or data science projects.
  • Strong understanding of statistical methodologies, including multivariate analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, and network analysis.
  • Experience working with large datasets and performing data preparation, transformation, and analysis.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or R.
  • Good knowledge of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Professional proficiency in English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Matplotlib.
  • Knowledge of version control using Git.
