Junior Data Scientist

We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist to join our team and contribute to data-driven decision-making. This role involves working with statistical analysis, time series analysis, and business reporting. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Python (including ML and statistical analysis libraries) and SQL for querying data, with experience in data visualization. The role also requires communication skills to present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
What you'll do
Develop and apply statistical models and time series forecasting techniques to analyze business trends and performance.
Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and insights that drive strategic decision-making.
Research, define, and refine new business metrics, ensuring they accurately capture business performance.
Use SQL to query and manipulate data efficiently.
Create data visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Superset) to support data-driven insights.
Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.
Maintain thorough documentation of methodologies, models, and findings for transparency and reproducibility.
Collaborate with various teams including engineers to ensure efficient data access and integration.
What you'll have
Strong Python skills, particularly libraries used for ML and statistical analysis (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, statsmodels, etc.).
Knowledge of time series forecasting and statistical analysis.
Experience with SQL for querying and data manipulation.
Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Superset) for data visualization is beneficial.
Ability to communicate findings through data storytelling, translating numbers into clear, meaningful insights that drive business impact.
Strong documentation skills to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
Even better if
Familiarity with AWS or cloud-based environments
Familiarity with GitHub, JIRA, and Confluence for collaboration and version control.
Exposure to deployment concepts and working with engineering teams on productionizing models.
Experience collaborating with data engineers on data pipelines and ETL processes.
Your background
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
1-2 years of experience in the data space OR equivalent relevant experience.
Previous experience as a Data Analyst or Data Scientist, with Python as a primary tool.
