A Junior Data Scientist joins Roland Berger's Digital Hub in the Americas, working alongside consultants and clients on consulting projects: cleaning and analyzing large datasets, building pipelines and data architectures, and developing statistical/ML models and interactive apps. We are looking for an ambitious Junior Data Scientist to support our Digital Hub in the Americas, working closely with consultants and clients to deliver data-driven solutions. You will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative strategies and business models across various industries.
This position is a hybrid role in our Mexico City office.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, clean and analyze large datasets from diverse sources
Visualize and interpret data to extract actionable insights
Build data pipelines for advanced analytics in both code and no-code
Design data architectures and ontologies for business analytics and applications
Integrate OCR, AI, embeddings and other techniques to deal with unstructured data
Develop code and no code interactive front-ends and applications implementing business workflows
Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems
Identify opportunities for advanced analytics and AI applications within client projects
Contribute to brainstorming sessions and the development of creative, practical solutions
Work as a core team member on consulting projects, supporting the design and execution of data-driven strategies
Collaborate with consultants, data scientists, and clients to understand business needs and translate them into analytical solutions
Prepare and deliver clear, compelling presentations and reports for internal and client use
Participate in client meetings and workshops to present findings and recommendations
Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, business-oriented manner
Layout technical and business ideas in slide presentations with clear and concise story lining
Support analytics, pipelining, ontology, and application knowledge mana across practice
Help identify knowledge origination, retention and sharing, to fulfill project and solution needs
Provide materials to support the sharing and dissemination of relevant knowledge through various channels
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline required
1-3 years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or a related field
Consulting experience or exposure to business strategy projects is a plus
Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take innovative
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish, additional language is a plus.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, for ETL, advanced analytics and app development
- Experience with data visualization tools (Dash, Streamlit, Tableau, Power BI, appsmith, or similar technologies)
- Experience working with Palantir, Databricks, Snowflake or hyperscaler platforms for data integration
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning, data modeling, and AI
- Ability to work with large, complex datasets and data pipelines, and workflow processes
- Analytical and critical thinking
