Junior Database Developer

SegPay is looking for a Junior Database Developer to join our Operations team and grow their skills while working with the data and systems behind our payment-processing environment.

This is a great opportunity for an early-career database professional who has a strong foundation in SQL Server and database development and is ready to take the next step. You'll work alongside experienced database professionals while gaining hands-on experience with database design, ETL processes, performance optimization, reporting, and production systems.

What You'll Do

• Assist with designing and maintaining database schemas
• Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
• Support ETL processes and data integrations
• Provide backend database support for applications and business needs
• Assist with database performance monitoring and optimization
• Help maintain data accuracy, integrity, and security
• Troubleshoot database and data-related issues
• Support database migrations and system changes
• Maintain technical documentation
• Gain experience working with payment data and PCI-related requirements

The position is designed as an early-career database role working alongside senior developers and database engineers while contributing to production database systems.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 1–3 years of database engineering or development experience
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases
• Familiarity with ETL and business intelligence concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to learn quickly and work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Even Better If You Have

Experience with SSRS, data visualization tools, payment or transaction-processing systems, or PCI environments is a plus.
