Role Name: Junior Designer

About the role:

Location: Remote

Full-time, 5 days per week, day shift

CTC: 30k-35k

Desired applicant profile:

Qualification: A formal degree in design is must.

Experience: 2 to 3 years

We’re looking for a junior designer with strong fundamentals, a sharp eye and an instinct for making things beautifully and thoughtfully.

This is not simply an execution role. We’re looking for someone who can think through a brief, understand the idea behind the work and translate it into design with clarity, consistency and craft.

Beforest has a carefully developed brand identity and comprehensive brand guidelines. You should be comfortable interpreting them and applying them thoughtfully across different formats and touchpoints, while developing work that feels fresh and recognisably Beforest.

What you’ll do

You’ll work closely with the Lead Brand Designer, Creative Director and Content Lead across the day-to-day design needs of Beforest and its brands.

The work will span brand communication, ad campaigns, presentations, social media, digital, print design, experiences and other brand touchpoints.

You will be expected to:

  • Take ownership of briefs from initial understanding through to final delivery.
  • Develop design solutions across different formats, audiences and platforms.
  • Apply and extend the Beforest brand system consistently across all communication.
  • Create cohesive brand experiences across physical and digital touchpoints.
  • Manage and assist on multiple projects, establish timelines and deliver reliably.
  • Coordinate directly with marketing, communications, business intelligence and other internal teams.
  • Present work clearly, incorporate feedback and take projects through successive rounds of refinement.
  • Prepare accurate, production-ready work and maintain an organised design workflow.

What we’re looking for

2–3 years of professional design experience.

You should have:

  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates ideas, visual judgement and a high level of craft.
  • Excellent foundations in typography, composition, hierarchy, colour and visual systems.
  • A razor-sharp eye, sensitive to colour, form, type and detail.
  • The ability to crack a brief, wrestle with complexity and make it stunningly simple.
  • The ability to handle a layout with confidence and know when to push and when to leave space.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Canva.
  • Fluency with contemporary AI tools for research, exploration and execution.
  • The ability to work independently, while being open to feedback, critique and constantly evolving.

A little about Beforest

Beforest creates large, professionally managed collectives where people can own land and a home while sharing a much larger living landscape.

Instead of developing land plot by plot, we plan the whole landscape together: where homes go, how water moves, what gets farmed and what stays forest. The idea is simple: create places that become ecologically and economically richer over time.

Our work extends beyond the collectives into forest-friendly produce, hospitality and regenerative construction. So as a designer, your canvas can move from a coffee pack to a website, a film, a sign in a forest, a supper club or the experience of an entire place.

The role offers a wide range of work to begin with, and room to grow as we grow.

P.S. Beforest walks are part of the perks.
To apply please send us your portfolio and CV.

Your portfolio matters considerably more than a long cover letter. We want to see how you think, what you notice and the quality of work you choose to put your name on.
