About the role
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Junior Developer (AWS Kiro) to join our growing development team at our Kuala Lumpur office. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to gain hands-on experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud infrastructure technologies. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of scalable cloud-based applications while working alongside experienced developers who will mentor and support your professional growth. You will play an integral part in our mission to deliver high-quality software solutions to our clients.
Key responsibilities
Develop and maintain applications using AWS services and cloud-native technologies, with particular focus on the Kiro platform
Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code that meets our quality standards and best practices
Collaborate with senior developers and cross-functional teams to design and implement features and functionality
Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve code quality
Debug, test, and troubleshoot applications to identify and resolve issues promptly
Assist in deploying applications to AWS environments and monitoring their performance
Document technical specifications, system designs, and development processes
Stay updated with emerging technologies and AWS best practices, contributing ideas to improve our development processes
Support the maintenance and enhancement of existing applications and systems
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Solid understanding of core programming concepts and object-oriented design principles
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Go
Familiarity with AWS services and cloud computing concepts; AWS certification or prior hands-on experience is advantageous
Basic knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks
Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes is desirable
Familiarity with relational databases and SQL is beneficial
