The Opportunity
Are you a mastermind when it comes to throwing unforgettable events? Do you have a passion for bringing people together and creating unique experiences? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We’re looking for someone with a knack for planning innovative and engaging experiences for our students at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury (UC).
We'd particularly love to hear from people who have helped organise club events, student initiatives, volunteer programmes, community activities, or other projects that required strong organisation and coordination skills.
If you like thinking up new experiential ideas and finding innovative ways to engage different groups, then this is a great opportunity to expand on your skill set across wide variety of event types. Our team delivers everything from 3500 pax Music Festivals, Markets, Wellbeing initiatives, Awards Ceremonies, Concerts, BBQs, Coffee Mornings and everything else in between.
If you are ready to join our team of Event Coordinators and help deliver a calendar of epic events for UC Students, we want to hear from you!
About You
Whether you've recently graduated or gained experience through student clubs, volunteering, internships, or community events, we'd love to hear from you. What matters most is your enthusiasm for events, willingness to learn, and passion for creating memorable experiences for students.
Working alongside our Events Team, you'll help plan, coordinate and deliver a wide range of student-focused events. You'll contribute to event planning, create run sheets, coordinate suppliers and stakeholders, support event delivery, and assist with post-event evaluations.
An understanding of event planning processes would be beneficial, however we are equally interested in candidates who are eager to learn and develop their event management skills. You need to enjoy collaborating, be comfortable in a high-pace environment, be organised, and have excellent communication skills.
Due to the nature of the role and the organisation, an affinity for and understanding of students is important.
