Position Description
VOLO is looking for Junior and Experienced DevOps Engineers to join its delivery teams and work on enterprise software projects for international clients. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, automating, and operating cloud and on-premises infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments. Depending on project needs and workload, the specialist may contribute to one or multiple client projects.
The role requires strong technical ownership, the ability to work effectively with distributed delivery teams, and confidence communicating directly with international clients in English.
What you will do
- Design, provision, configure, and maintain cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
- Deploy, administer, and support production Kubernetes environments.
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, Azure ARM/Bicep, or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Design and automate CI/CD pipelines across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
- Automate application deployment, configuration, monitoring, alerting, backups, updates, and recovery processes.
- Manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker.
- Support production Linux and Windows environments.
- Configure and maintain networking components, including ingress, load balancing, DNS, certificates, firewalls, proxies, and Kubernetes network policies.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, networking, performance, and availability issues.
- Participate in incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and preventive improvement activities.
- Apply infrastructure security and hardening practices.
- Collaborate with development, QA, architecture, and delivery teams to plan releases and improve deployment reliability.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding infrastructure design, technical decisions, operational issues, and project progress.
- Maintain clear infrastructure and operational documentation.
What You Need to Have
- At least 1 year of professional experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or site reliability, with hands-on experience deploying and administering production Kubernetes infrastructure. Strong experience with Docker and containerized application delivery.
- Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or another major cloud platform.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, preferably Terraform, Azure ARM, or Bicep.
- Practical experience designing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience administering Linux and Windows environments.
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, Python, or another relevant scripting language.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, load balancing, firewalls, TLS, proxies, and Kubernetes networking.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, and disaster-recovery processes.
- Experience supporting production SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, hybrid, or on-premises environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage responsibilities across multiple teams or projects when required.
- Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to participate confidently in client meetings and technical discussions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
