Junior Financial Controller (m/f)

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare monthly and annual management reports (P&L, balance sheet variance analysis)
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes
• Analyze cost variances between budget/forecast and actuals, with commentary
• Analyse the KPI dashboards (production costs, lifting costs, opex/capex per barrel, etc.)
• Maintain models for future sales and cost analysis

Cost Control & Budgeting:

• Monitor operating expenses (OPEX and GnA) and capital expenditures (CAPEX) against approved budgets
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts/reforecasts
• Track AFEs (Authorization for Expenditure) spending versus approved amounts

Compliance & Controls:

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and industry regulations
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and reconciliations

Inventory & Fixed Assets:

• Support tracking of inventory (materials, spare parts, stock)
• Assist in fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capitalization of projects

Process Improvement:

• Participate in ad hoc analyses and projects requested by finance management or operations
• Contribute to the utilization of AI tools within finance and operation

Potrebno obrazovanje, znanja i vještine

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 1-4 years of relevant experience; experience in oil & gas, energy, or a similarly capital-intensive/project-based industry is a plus
• Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) is an advantage
• Analytical mindset with attention to details
• Good communication skills to interact with both finance and operational/technical stakeholders
• Good written and spoken English skills
